Darrell E. Genstler, M.D., is the principal surgeon and founder of Genstler Eye Center and Oregon Cataract and Laser Institute. An ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract surgery, lens implant surgery, and laser surgery, Dr. Genstler is a graduate of Loma Linda University School of Medicine in California. He took his training as an ophthalmologist at the University of Kansas. In addition, he took advanced training in cataract removal, intraocular lens implant surgery, and laser surgery at Ohio State University.

The son of medical missionary parents, Dr. Genstler grew up in West Africa and the Far East, where his parents practiced in mission hospitals. A resident of the Willamette Valley since 1983, he has been doing eye surgery since 1979 and has established a reputation as a skilled and progressive eye surgeon. His surgical skills, attention to detail, and open communication with patients have earned him respect from both patients and colleagues.
